Launch of Mike Douris Education Centre
ACK Madeleine Centre launched and dedicated the new Mike Douris Education Centre on 18th January 2023. The new building, which consists of classrooms, administration block, library and ablution block will transform the existing school and provide modern facilities designed to serve nearly 325 students. This major improvement project at ACK Madeleine will provide state-of-the-art facilities for our children at the center. The buildings were commissioned by Elmer and Sandra Doty, who generously donated towards the constructions of the same. The event was graced by Yatima Outreach Country director Mr. Tom Wambulwa, Orphan Outreach team led by Ms. Amy Norton Vice President of Strategic Partnerships, ACK Arch Bishop The Most Rev. Dr. Jackson Ole Sapit, the organization’s board of directors and other stakeholders.
Orphan Outreach Team Visits Patmos School
The Orphan Outreach team visited Patmos School on 17th January 2023 for the official launch of the school’s library. The library was opened by Ms. Cobi Porter, Chair Orphan Outreach board and Tiffany Taylor Wines, Vice President of Development. The team later on interacted with the children through their VBS classes. Later in the week, on the 20th of January, the team did some home visits to some of the families in the program.
Orphan Outreach Visits Nairoshi Community Project, Narok
On 21st January 2023, Nairoshi Community Centre in Naisoya Narok got a visit from the Orphan Outreach team led by President Emeritus Mr. Mike Douris, accompanied by Yatima Outreach’s director Mr. Tom Wambulwa and other Yatima Outreach staff. The purpose of the visit was to meet the team in Narok and see the progress of the project. The team also did home visits to 4 families who are beneficiaries of the organization’s support. They also had the opportunity to monitor progress and condition of the newly constructed modern toilets, classrooms and clinic to determine the possibility of operationalizing the classrooms.
