Construction of Classrooms, Administration Block and Abolition Block

On 2nd June 2022, Yatima Outreach Organization Country Director Mr. Tom Wambulwa, signed and handed over the contract for construction of administration block, classrooms and abolition block for ACK Madeleine Centre in Bungoma, to the project contractor Mr. Dipak Arjun of Dipak Arjun Enterprises. The construction of these 3 vital facilities is geared towards investing in the education of children for generations to come. The new classrooms will allow children to be taught in a better and more child friendly school environment with smaller classes that will enhance individual attention to children and enough desk space.
Present during the signing of the contract was the Quantity Surveyor, Ms. Susan Anyango Ouma and Architect Mr. Hudson Emitati. The construction is estimated to take a period of 8 months having the classrooms ready by January 2023 for the next school year.
Currently, the school has a total of 324 students and 16 teachers
ACK Madeleine Centre held a special ceremony on 10th June 2022 to break ground for the construction of modern classrooms, administration block and ablution block. The construction of these new facilities is an effort to make the school offer quality education to the children of Mechimeru community in Bungoma.
Locals from Mechimeru will also benefit from the ongoing project since casual laborers will be outsourced from the community, hence creating job opportunity to the youth.
The center, which has been supporting Orphans and Vulnerable children will now have the capacity to hold more children once the construction of the classrooms is done.
