SCHOOLS REOPENING FOR TERM ONE

Learning for all primary and secondary schools in Kenya are set to begin the new academic calendar next week, 25 th April 2022 after students had close to 2 months holiday break. Schools across the country are preparing to usher in students who are transitioning to their next classes.
Our children at Patmos School, ACK Madeline and Nairoshi Programs are also not left out in ensuring there is a smooth transition for all our beneficiaries. Patmos school administrator Mr. Richard Wanjala says that the school is ready to receive pupils for the new academic year. The administrator however mentioned that the challenge the school is facing is that they are currently short of 3 teaching staffs but is hopeful that recruitment will be done before schools’ resume.

According to the sponsorship coordinator, Mr. Elijah Wekesa, 12 students will be transitioning to form one having been prepared psychologically during the vocational bible study sessions. Parents were also involved to support in the transition.

ACK Madeline project manager also said that they are ready to receive children back in school from the long holiday. She mentioned that forty students will be transitioning to form one in the new new academic year. During the long holiday period, preparation of the students to transition in to secondary school was done through mentorship programs at the Centre. The challenge the graduate program is facing is that some of the graduate students are not willing to attend the schools they have been called to posing location of the schools as a challenge. This has slowed down the budgeting process since they are yet to receive school fees structures.
The new term is expected to last for 10 weeks with 1/7/2022 slated as the closing date.
