On 29 th August 2022, Yatima Outreach Country Director in collaboration with Pump Tech Solutions organized for a training with Naisoya community. The training focused on sustainability of the water project and bore hole maintenance. The project contractor Mr. Kenneth Ngotho of PSL Water Engineers Ltd facilitated the training.

Mary Naikumi, the Project Manager at Nairoshi Integrated Community Center (NICC) stated that they are currently selling water to the community at a cost of Kshs 5 per 20 liters. The funds collected from the project are expected to ensure NICC project’s sustainability.

During the training, Mr. Ngotho advised the project manager to have a record book for accountability and transparency of funds collected. He added by saying the success of the borehole is solely dependent on Naisoya Community.

Before the adjournment of the training, the project manager was advised to form a 5-member water management committee that will oversee the operation of the water project. The project is a fountain of hope to the community since it has brought water closer to the people of Naisoya, the locals no longer have to compete for water at watering points.
